Danny K. Doyle Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

DANNY K. DOYLE, 74, passed peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on Tuesday July 12, 2022. Born in Louisville, Danny attended Holy Spirit School, Trinity High School, Campbellsville University and the University of Kentucky. He retired from a career in sales, but his passions were golf, football officiating and UK athletics. During his 30+ year career in officiating, Danny became a member of the Kentuckiana Football Officials Association (KFOA) Hall of Fame and was a recipient of the Bob Heriges Award, Durkin-Pack Outstanding Official Award and Sam Gruneisem Award. He lived life to the fullest, never missed an opportunity to tell a good story (or hear one), always look at the glass half full, and never failed to bring a smile and laugh to anyone in his presence. Even in his final days he showed grace, strength and compassion for others. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Margaret “Mickey” Doyle. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 23 years Patsy (McDowell) Doyle; daughters Jacky Kuerzi (Jon) and Kelly Wathen (Turner); step-daughters Wendie DeHart (Michael) and Melinda Raymond; step-son Ty Raymond (Beaven); brother Jack Doyle (Joyce); grandchildren Jack, Ella, Evelyn, Lydia, Hank, and Colette; his nephew and niece Mick and Alice, and many dear friends. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 17, 2022, from 3-8 pm at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home Jeffersontown, 10600 Taylorsville Rd. His Memorial Mass will be at 11 am Monday, July 18, 2022 at St. Edward Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Dr. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the ALS Association Kentucky Chapter.
