Edna Sadie George

February 17, 1928 - April 25, 2022

Edna Sadie George, 94, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 surrounded by her family. Edna was born February 17, 1928 in Louisville, a daughter of the late David and Elizabeth George Naiser. She was a devout member of St. Michael Orthodox Church her entire life. She had previously worked for the former Bacon’s Department Stores. Besides her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frebert George; siblings, Nick Naiser, Leo Naiser and his wife Delores, Corinne Hill and her husband David, and Josephine Muffet and her husband Mike. Other in-laws preceding her in death were Nick and Freda George, Woodrow George, Mary and Mike Metry, Bernie Naiser, and Ronnie Metry. Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Janice (Paul) Kensicki, Cindy McAuliffe (Mick Ramsey), Nick George, David George (Coreen) and Valarie (Pete) Nonos. Edna is also survived by her siblings: Alice Coury (Adam), Betty Metry (Knobby), Jimmy Naiser, Shirley Metry (Ed), and Margaret Metry; and sisters-in-law Elizabeth George and Gina Naiser. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Jennifer, David, Amanda, Tracy, Leslie, Victor, Joelle, Jahna, Lauren and Nick, and thirteen great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Franciscan Healthcare and Hosparus Health for their wonderful and loving care of Mom. The visitation and funeral service will be held Friday, April 29th at St. Michael Orthodox Church, 3701 St. Michael Church Drive. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 6 p.m. Entombment will take place Monday, May 2nd at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery.
