Gerald "Jerry" L. Metzmeier Sr.

Gerald “Jerry” L. Metzmeier Sr., 73, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 due to complications resulting from Covid 19. Born in Louisville on November 28, 1946, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Louise Spain Metzmeier. Gerald was a retired LMPD officer after 26 years of faithful service to the force. He was a proud member of the Louisville Motorcycle Drill Team. He was a member of the Elk’s Club and the Aero Club. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His true passion was his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Connie Riedling Metzmeier ; his children, Rhonda(Gary) Bonnet, Jerry (Lauren) Metzmeier, Brian(Heather) Metzmeier, and Shaun Metzmeier; Grandchildren, Josh, Ellie, Victoria, Dallas and Madison. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday , November 13th at Ratterman and Sons Chapel, 3800 Bardstown Road. Visitation will be from 12-1:30 p.m. Friday, November 13th at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Crusade for Children.
