Joseph H. Fallahay Jr.

January 20, 1932 - April 28, 2022

Joseph H. Fallahay, Jr., 90, of Louisville, entered Eternal Life on Thursday, April 28, 2022, surrounded by his family. Joseph was born in Louisville to the late Homer and Mary Elizabeth Fallahay. He graduated from Flaget High School and worked for over 60 years in the transportation industry, primarily with Mason Dixon. Joseph was a proud member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and a long-time volunteer with the Franciscan Shelter House. He was also a founding member of St. Martha Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary Charlotte Fallahay; parents; and sisters, Mary Catherine Brunswick, Doris Mae Green, and Helen Ann Utrecht. Carrying on Joseph’s legacy are his children, Dan Fallahay, Jackie Hogan (Jay), Kevin Fallahay, Rob Fallahay (Amy), Mary Pat Bauman (Bob), and Kelley Powers (Todd); 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Joseph’s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Baptist Health Palliative Care for the excellent way he was cared for. Visitation for Joseph will be from 2-8 PM on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM on Thursday, May 5 at St. Martha Catholic Church, 2825 Klondike Lane, with burial to take place at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Franciscan Shelter House.
