Julia "Judy" Annette Fairfax

Julia “Judy” Annette Fairfax was called to be reunited with her Heavenly Father on April 1, 2022. She was born on January 25, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky in the middle of the 1937 flood. Julia graduated from Ursuline Academy in Louisville in 1955. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Louisville and also St. Timothy in The Villages, Florida for 21 years. She volunteered at Suburban Hospital for 15 years. Julia was an avid fan of the PGA Golf Tour and knew all the players. She was also a big fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and all University of Louisville sports. She was loved dearly by all that ever knew her and had a tremendous sense of humor. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Loretta Mudd; her brother, Edward Mudd (Gerry); and a granddaughter, Ashley Wayne. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 66 years, Ray Fairfax. They were married April 28, 1956. Julia is also survived by her daughter, Donna Wayne (John Gregory); son, Thomas (Beverley); her 5 grandchildren, Spencer Wayne (Lisa), Wesley Wayne (Meredith), Amanda Dirkes (Matthew) Hollie Brookman (Robert), Jonathan Fairfax (Jasmine); and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 5 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. A funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 7500 Tangelo Drive. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mass of the Air and Hosparus Health of Louisville. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
