Lisa Anne (Thompson) Tapp

Lisa Anne (Thompson) Tapp, 66, died peacefully at home on March 1 surrounded by her family. A resident of Jeffersontown, Lisa was born on September 22, 1955 to Mary Ann and Richard Thompson. She was a graduate of Assumption High School and Kentucky State University. Professionally, she worked as a registered nurse, but her real passions were for writing, baking, travel, and being a parent and grandparent. She authored 3 published books and was a long-time member of Louisville Romance Writers. When she wasn’t writing, she mastered new recipes in the kitchen for friends’ and family’s special occasions—both big and small. She enjoyed taking walks with loved ones, especially while traveling to new places. She visited all over the US, explored the lesser-known Bahamian Islands, and traveled to Russia as a medical missionary in 1995. Forever a loyal friend, eternal optimist, and best mom and Gigi ever, she will be sorely missed. Lisa is survived by her three children—Renee Tapp (Alan Wiig); Nick Tapp (Lauren Kendall) and Lydia Moel (Josh)—and four grandchildren who will honor her memory by ruckusing and playing with abandon, taking adventures in books and in the world, and loving and supporting each other. She is also survived by her sisters Monica Thompson and Celeste Lawson, her brother Mike Thompson, and her rescue dog Maddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gregg Thompson, and her beloved miniature schnauzer, Pooka. A celebration of life is planned for Sunday May 15 at the Woodland Pavilion at Broad Run Park. Light food and refreshments begin at 2pm with service starting at 4pm. All are welcome. A bench will be dedicated in Lisa’s memory at Moss Gibbs Woodland Garden in the Parklands. Those wishing to donate can contact the family.
