Mary Rose Krebs Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Rose Krebs, 98, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at her home in Audubon Park. She and her twin sister, the late Catherine Barbara “K-Bob” Thompson, were born to the late Catherine and Edwin August Schoenbachler, Sr. on July 27, 1923, in Louisville, KY. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert “Bob” J. Krebs; twin, Catherine and her husband, Albert J. Thompon; and brother, Edwin A. and his wife, Martha Deddens Schoenbachler. Mary Rose was a graduate of St. Columba School and Ursuline Academy. She was a member of St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church, the O.F.F. Club, Creative Homemakers, the Hunters Club, numerous bridge clubs and was a former volunteer at the Sister Visitor Center, as well as with various community organizations. She is survived by her three sons David M. (Carol), Robert S. (Mary Lou) and Edwin C. (Susan Hamilton); her twin’s daughters Ann Thompson (Patrick Mutchler), Jane Thompson (John Kaelin), and Mary Cecil (Greg); grandchildren Cory Krebs, Jamie (Blanton) Miller; Julie (Paul) Simms and Lisa (Craig) Weiter; great-grandchildren Tensley Krebs, Will and Addie Simms, Noah and Tori Miller, and Lilly and Corinne Weiter; brother-in-law James C. (Mary V.) Krebs; and many loving Schoenbachler and Krebs nieces, nephews, their children and grandchildren. The original patron of “FOMO”, Mary Rose rarely said no to an invitation and was often the last to leave any party. She had the great good fortune to have many life-long friends and she continued to meet new people, make new friends and go new places throughout her life. Special thanks to Kia Turner, Aquilla Jackson, Gail Guthrie, Joann Sims, their families and Susan and Charlie Kreig for allowing Mary Rose the grace to spend her last years surrounded by their love and care in the happy activity of her home. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at St. Stephen Martyr Church, 2831 Pindell Ave. with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, February 23 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road.
