Milly L. Kiper Fowler
June 17, 1933 - January 30, 2022
Milly L. Kiper Fowler, 88, of Louisville died peacefully January 30, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born in Louisville on June 17, 1933 to the late Edward and Agnes Kiper. Milly was a devoted and loving wife, mother of four children, grandmother and great-grandmother. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, sister, daughter Donna Fowler Brian and her daughter-in-law Janice Fowler. She is survived by her loving husband of over 70 years, Donald Fowler; their children Denny Fowler (Bonnie Owens), Chris Fowler (Sandi Clark), Pam Fowler (Pam Wink); 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. For many years she was a faithful member of St. Martha Parish where she both coached and played softball. She loved St. Martha where she and her husband Don raised their family and made many lifelong friends. Milly was a devoted Catholic and loved her church and family. In her younger years she worked and volunteered for many events and picnics at St. Martha. In her earlier years the Sisters of Charity could not drive. Milly was always there to take the sisters to do their shopping or to drive them to their appointments. Milly loved to watch her children participate in their sports at St. Martha, Trinity and Assumption High School. You could always catch her sitting in the bleachers, rooting for her children, enjoying and watching a game. She and Don were avid and great dancers. If there was music playing, they were dancing. She and Don were in many dance clubs in their younger years. In fact, she and Don met years ago at a St. Boniface dance, and they’ve been dancing ever since. Later, when Don retired from Ford Motor Company, they would spend their winters in Naples, Florida. They made Naples their winter home for over 20 years. Our family would like to thank her physician, Dr. Thomas and the staff at Norton’s Hospital for such loving care and kindness for Milly. We would also like to thank the nurses and doctors at Hosparus for their compassionate care. Visitation will be Sunday, February 6th from 4-8 p.m. at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Martha Catholic Church, 2825 Klondike Lane on Monday, February 7th at 10 a.m. followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Research, Hosparus or to St. Martha Church. Online condolences may be shared at www.rattterman.com.
