Nevil Hammons, 86, of Louisville, entered Eternal Life on Friday, January 21, 2022. Nevil was born in DeWitt, Kentucky to the late W.M. and Ella Hammons. He worked for many years at Southern Standard Cartons and was a former member of Forest Park Community Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Isaac Hammons, Evelyn Haberkamp, Amos Hammons, Radford Hammons, and Mary Lee Mills. Carrying on Nevil’s legacy are his wife, Carol Bushart Hammons; sons, Billy Hammons and Timothy Hammons; step-daughter, Andrea Peace (Jim); grandchildren, Brook Hammons, Jason Hammons, and Katrina Spalding; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Hammons and Madelyn Hammons; brother, Burton Hammons (Bonnie); and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Nevil will be from 2-8 PM on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 10600 Taylorsville Road. Funeral service will be at 10 AM on Friday, January 28 at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Patterson Cemetery in Knox County. Condolences may be shared at Ratterman.com.
