Rolando Palma Garrido

Atty., Rolando Palma Garrido, 88, entered Eternal Life Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Rolando was born in San Enrique, Philippines to the late Exequiel and Julietta Garrido. He fondly recalled his days spent studying at the University of the Philippines at Diliman – College of Law, where he dedicated his life to mastering his profession as a defense lawyer and served as a special attorney for the Commission on Elections. During his time at law school, he forged many meaningful and lasting friendships through his involvement in the Sigma Rho Fraternity. After providing legal defense to the people of his hometown and the surrounding communities, Rolando successfully served as the two-term mayor of San Enrique. He took great pleasure in building on the legacy of his father, Exequiel, who served as his predecessor of the San Enrique Mayoral Office. He will be remembered most for his faith and loving sacrifice to his family. Despite a promising future in Philippine government and private sector accolades he put the future of his young family above that of his own aspirations. He will be remembered as a doting husband, beloved father, and revered grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Norma Lanceta Garrido; children, Julie Jennings (Christopher), Nolan Garrido (Janice), and Angelita Young (Jim); grandchildren, Chloe, Ethan, Madison, and Kaia; siblings, Erlinda Pador, Patria Pablico, Saturnino Garrido; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road.
