Stephen M. "Steve" Dennison

November 13, 1952 - June 14, 2021

Stephen M. Dennison (Steve), Sr. 68, of Louisville was met at the gates of heaven on June 14, 2021. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and Paps. He was born November 13, 1952 to Freymond and Ann Dennison and grew up surrounded by the love his six sisters. He spent his childhood on the fields and courts of the South End and enjoyed a storied high school basketball career at Pleasure Ridge Park. His hustle and grit earned him a reputation as the rebound king and a photo of him can still be found behind the trophy case glass. Steve was a proud patriot and served in Korea with the Army. He spent most of his life as a USPS employee - retiring after 30 years of service. He valued the friendships he developed there and still loved meeting the guys to play cards . His greatest legacy is found in those who loved him. He is survived by his wife, Cam, his son, Stephen Jr., his daughter, Danielle Cline (Daniel), father and stepmother, Freymond and Shirley Dennison, sisters, Joyce Jones (Sam), Debbie McDonough, Kathy Lunsford (Doug), Sheila Parvis, and Stephanie King (David), four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, one step-daughter, Melissa Brown, three step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his mother Ann Dennison, his sister Sharon Pell, and his niece Natalie Parvis Nichols. His giant heart and gentle soul made him the hero of young children and the friend to all he encountered. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. “Enter into thy rest, thy great and faithful servant.” Well done. Visitation will be at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road from 3-8 pm on Thursday with a celebration of life on Friday at 1 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Online condolences may be shared at www.ratterman.com.
